Symposium 2021

Symposium 2021 at Borgo a Mozzano, Italy: Sabine Meyer, Charlotte Mancuso and Giulietta, Harald Thaler, Heiner Hofmann, Kristina Kanaan

We met in Borgo a Mozzano, Italy,  in Heiner Hofmann’s mill from 12th to 19th november 2021; considering the difficult global period we are all living,  we were really happy to see each other in person after such a long time of suspension of all our activities as artists and as an European group. We worked together especially on the organizational level, a lot of  work on the computer was done.  Some of the members joined  online. Our focus at the moment is mainly on the Frequenzen Book, which will be released for the 30th anniversary of the group in the year 2022.
We are proud that our group has existed for 30 years, some of the founding members are still with us, others have passed away.

30 years of European art together!                                                                                       30 years of artistic communication between artists from all over Europe through at least 3 generations!                                                                                                                         30 years of “We live Europe”!

Our book will talk about all the symposia through pictures, documents and texts: on this occasion we will publish Irene Hallmann Strauss’ narration about the history of the Frequenzen since their foundation.

Libres Bal(l)ades, Ongles, France, 2019

The annual symposium or the Frequenzen art group is over. We would like to thank our perfect managers and artist colleagues  Gilles Brun, Ans Barillé, Jean-Pierre Dupont and of course Agnès: she was always in the right place at the right moment.

The artists of the art association J’Ongles Art worked with us in public spaces; many visitors came to see us creating. We dedicated this symposium to our artist colleague Michel Schmid, who passed away last year. He was at home in the Haute Provence.

The final exhibition of the works took place in the Town Hall of Ongles.

Symposium 2019 France – Libres Bal(l)ades

For this symposium, planned from the 1st to the 7th of July 2019 in Rocher D’Ongles (France), we chose the theme Libres Bal(l)ades with the association J’Ongles Art.

It will be organized by our artist colleagues Gilles Brun and Ans Barille-Riedijk.

Balade means walking aimlessly without precisly knowing were to go and Ballade means little poetry and songs to dance to. Those two terms refer to the idea of freedom and lightness, movement, wandering, discovery, musicality, poetry, writing…

As a European Art Group, Frequenzen organize meetings with school children and these meetings are always interesting for both sides. Since these collaborations are appreciated, we’ve been in contact with the schools of Ongles, Revest des Brousses and Limans and we propose to work on the theme creating a path throughout the streets of the village.

Symposium 2018 on Gozo, Malta

The theme “Together”

represents the red thread that binds the artworks in production; each one of the artists will work with his own personal technique.

They will develop sculptures, paintings, photographs and drawings in a public place, where everyone can come and experience live the growth of an artwork.

From 6th to 11th October, it will be possible to visit the artists at “Ta’ Peppi Farmhouse” and see them creating.

From 12th to 14th October they will expose the final results at the Citadella of Gozo.

2016 – 25 years anniversary of the EAG Frequenzen e.V.

This year we will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Frequenzen group which has been in
existence since 1991.The group was formed with the aim of creating a working collaboration by
artists coming from various European countries.
This artistic collaboration has always represented the fundamental element of our group.
As time went by some of our dear colleagues have passed away but we can count on a
continuous flow of new artists from different European countries who are interested in our
artistic concept. These artists are the second generation supporting the founding group.
Our next symposium will take place in Veszprém, Hungary, from
September 24 to October 2, 2016.
We have always believed in an European concept at the base of our work and we are
convinced that it is most urgent to keep Europe a border-free place where to live
and create as artists.
If you are interested in empowering the Frequenzen Symposium as a sponsor, please have a look on our Homepage, where you can find all the necessary information.

Frequenzen-Symposium 2015 Fluch—t

Our last Symposium in Neumarkt a.d.Raab in Austria is over. We were a small group this time,  the participating 7 artists came from 6 different European nations. We worked a lot, in a very concentrated manner, and the result is  interesting as usual. We treated the subject “escape”. Our location is situated near the Hungarian and the Slovenian borders and during our symposium many fugitives from Syria have been arrived, trying to go to Vienna. The item was very hot and really felt by the Frequenzen members.

You can follow the Frequenzen-Blog  here. There are photos from the art works, portraits of the participating artists and many details.
